Training is a vital part of reducing cutting accidents, but especially when making a major change to a safer cutting culture. Documented evidence of training for individual knife users is also part of Health and Safety compliance procedures and helpful in defending or even preventing the possibility of spurious claims for personal injury caused by industrial knives in the work place.
MARTOR UK has developed, and delivers, three basic training modules supported by video clips, wall charts, presentations and delegates’ notes. A list of videos and wall charts is included below.
Basic Modules
1. Why Safer Cutting?
Promotes safer cutting within a company to supervisors, managers and influencers. A 30 minute session for up to 12 delegates, including a 15 minutes Powerpoint presentation plus 15 minutes discussion. Includes delegate notes and pack.
2. Training Company Trainers and ‘Safety Champions’’.
A 45 minutes session in which up to six delegates will become qualified to train operators in the use of two different safety knives. Resources include live demonstrations, video and wall charts. Includes delegate notes, training resources, training documentation and trainer certificates.
3. Training Operators
A 20 minutes session for groups of up to 8 operators in which each operator will learn to demonstrate competence in the correct and safe way of using a designated knife to their own and their trainer’s satisfaction. Resources include live demonstration, video and wall charts. Includes a signed record of competence and operator’s certificate.
All modules can be customised. Also customers can deliver the training on ‘Why Safer Cutting’ and ‘Training Operators’ using MARTOR training material which will be supplied free of charge. Initial training will be supplied free of charge to ‘bone fide’ customers. A charge may be made for subsequent training sessions.
